Licca Castle old (original) Ellie
Hello! It’s been so long since we’ve seen each other—I’m sure a lot has happened in your lives over the past few years. As for me, I’ve finally been able to get my dolls out of storage, and I can start spending some time with them.
I’ve been setting up my office so I can focus on my dolls more freely, and it just so happens that a friend has gone on a trip to Japan. Since she knows how much I love Licca, she offered to get me a Licca Castle doll as a gift.
Please excuse the quality of the photos, I’d much rather use my cell phone to open boxes—it takes less time, and I get so excited when I open them.
A new adventure
Since it was an impromptu trip, we had little time to prepare, and we knew that the Castle was quite far from the areas where she was going.
She was able to visit both the store in Kobe and the one in Tokyo. Doll was bought at the first one, and a kimono at the second one.

The chosen doll. I thought she could be Jenny, but none matched her face. With the help of AI and reddit I found out she’s Ellie. Tthe label says old (original) Ellie in japanese.

Basic doll comes in a white one piece and shoes, also white. The doll is 27 cm. tall, and that’s how they call their clothes size as well.

The doll is beautiful. I tried looking for other Ellies with the same mold, but I wasn’t successful.
Her face is gorgeous—even more than Jenny’s (though I’d like to have her, too).
I’ll replace her body eventually, since her range of motion is limited.
An Obitsu 26 or 27 body seems to be the favorite among collectors. I plan to write a post comparing the different bodies when I switch hers.

I’m really happy with my gift, and it’s gone straight into the new display case I got for my dolls.
Do you collect Licca or Jenny dolls? I’d love to hear about your collections.
I hope to post an entry soon about everything I’ve learned about these dolls.
