Ten minutes photoshoot

OMG another post already? You better believe it! Today is the start of spring and though the forecast announces rain for this week, I already had a bit of sun, enough to replentish some energy to do stuff. And it feels awesome.

We had independence day on friday so I had more free time than usual this weekend and started some projects and even took photos of Ailene. There wasn’t much light at all but I went to the backyard to hang some clothes to dry and though “hey, I don’t have much to do so I could try to snap a few photos in here”. And so I did. It was a very short photoshoot (though it lasted a bit more than 10 minutes probably) but I got a few nice photos from it.

I don’t really talk or post about photoshoots here because most of the time I just choose one photo and it’s the only one that ever gets to see the light of social media’s day. And sometimes I don’t even get one photo I’m happy with. Or I’m happy with one photo and 2 months later it’s already gone from Deviantart and Flickr because I can’t stand it (which happens often).

Anyways, short story: I took some photos and I thought I share a few here, though the one I really really like it’s the third one (that poor dog plushie looks so scared LOL).

I’m also trying to learn crochet and I did a scarf and a half in SD size, but one I will start over and the other is not good enough yet to show. I’ve been using left over yarn from my mother’s projects so I’ll probably show something when I get a nice yarn and I actually don’t screw up half way. It’s been fun so far, but I’m still not sure what I’m doing half of the time and I’m not sure If I will ever be able to get past scarves. It would be nice to make something for my dolls with my own hands for a change. We’ll see.

I love outdoor photos. I wish my yard was a bit greener rather than being brown and dry. I love these shots of Ailene. I have to say, that last one is my favourite too. I see what you mean when you say that poor dog plush does look kind of scared.

I mostly made doll scarves for a long time when I first started learning crochet myself (well, doll and human scarves although human scarves take ages). Once you get comfortable with it, you can try other types of scarves. I’ve done one for a doll that had a more swirly shape. And keep an eye out for crochet patterns on DOA to practice other projects outside of scarves with. I have never been able to figure it out myself but if you ever do figure out how to resize crochet patterns for humans, you can make even more stuff. And don’t worry, I often still don’t know what I am doing and still fumble around a lot.

Hahaha thanks! the dog is kinda weird but I like it, that was definitely not his angle xD! My backyard has some nice green spots, but due to some stuff that happened at the beginning of the year, there’s some parts that are filled with furniture and things and it’s not pretty, so it’s not easy to find where to photograph. Hopefully we’ll clean up that soon so the grass can grow back 🙂
I’ll check DoA right away!! I hope I find something easy ahaha. I will keep trying scarves and maybe I will be able to do some more intrincate styles like you say :)! I don’t want to give up hehe

I used a higher iso to compensate the light and my 50mm lens which captures more light than the kit lens, and some photoshop as well 🙂 but yeah it wasn’t so bad!
      Thanks!

Yaaay, Ailene ♥ Love seeing photos of her, she’s so adorable~ Looks like she has a dear plushie she takes everywhere, just like a few of my yo-SD sized girls XD I think these photos look great, you should be more confident with your work!

Crocheting sounds so much fun, I remember doing some stuff at school years ago, but I was never that good at it ^^;; I always enjoy seeing other people’s works though, hope you’ll post some photos of the things you do and some WIPs as well~

Thanks!! It’s hard to be confident with photos because I change my opinion way too fast XD but I’ll try :)!! I tjink that if I keep at it there will be a day where I’ll be happier with my ability to take photos. So even if I do shert photoshoots like this one, it will be worth it in the end!
In my school they taught us how to knit, but I was a disaster at it lol Last week I was kinda bored and decided I could give crochet a try. It hasn’t been that frustrating really, so I’m glad I tried 🙂

Oh these are wonderful shots of Ailene, she and her plushie make a beautiful couple. I wish I could take outdoor photos like that, but unfortunately I can’t get that close to the ground!! LOL!!

Good on you for having a go at the crotchet Alejandra. I’m sure if you keep practising you’ll be making all sorts of things in no time at all. I admire anyone who gives things a go and has the tenacity not to give up when the first one doesn’t turn out the way they would have liked it to. Remember we who sew, knit and crochet, all began the same way, I know I had more than a couple of failures along the way.

    Hugs,
    X

Thanks!! I had to throw myself to the ground for those pics haha it was fun 🙂

I usually don’t give up too quickly on anything. I might say I give up, but 5 minutes later I’m at it again. Though one thing is trying doing a scarf and another completely is to do hats and dresses XD… I’m not sure if I’llever get to that 🙂

      Thanks four your encouraging words!~~

I think you’re a great photographer! 😀 My favorite is the second photo~ Your girl is so adorable, I love her outfit (I have a weak spot for cozy sweaters). Crochet sound like fun, I’ve knitted a scarf for my doll using two skewer sticks before, haha. XD

Happy Spring! Over here the leaves are changing colors and the air is colder everyday. The sun still warms our souls, hearts and even a bit of our faces.
Ailene is really cute and I agree with the others, it is always fun with outdoor photos – the light and surroundings are so much better, especially near water and when the sun is coming up.
Crocheting is so much fun and knitting too….and cross stitch. My dad (!!) showed me the basics when I was a kid. Good luck with the crocheting!

It’s a nice feeling to have a little time for photos. I know here, I wait for cool weather and then go crazy! XD I’d like to learn to crochet too. Lovely photos!! I am the same, always choosing what I think is the best photo. 😛

Thanks!!! Hope the weather gets cool for you then, I’m waiting for the sun, but it refuses to stay hahaha but little by little the days are getting warmer.
I usually choose one photo per photoshoot, sometimes none hehe.
Crochet is super fun! I haven’t tried much lately, I have to keep at it too.
