Yesterday I received my first taobao order and though I don’t think I’ll be doing a full review about it, I thought it would be nice to list the stores I used and my overall experience with it.
I’ve always avoided taobao because I couldn’t figure it out, but after seeing so many people getting pretty stuff from it I sat in from of my computer decided to solve the mystery once and for all.
I asked around tumblr and local groups about agents and I got so many helpful replies; I decided to use Bhiner as agent because most chilean hobbysts used that, so I’ll be talking about that at the end.
I only bought yoSD sized clothes since I’m focused mainly on Ailene’s look. I tried all the clothes on her and they do fit, though they seem to be a bit bigger on her (I think PW bodies are slimmer than more popular dolls of the same size because this happens with everything I get her XD).
First store I liked was Sunflower, I think they have the cutest dresses, though mostly sold out, which is why I didn’t get any XD:

This is the cutest thing ever! I wish they would sell more colors like brown and pink, but I love mint as well. I was aware that the shorts came with a puffy tail and that’s super cool, but I wasn’t expecting this:

I probably could try and take the tail from the hoodie out, but I like it for when I want to use it without the shorts haha. It does look quite funny when you use it as a set lol. I want to use this for a Halloween shoot or something like that, I think it would be very cute! I also have kitty ears and a tail that belongs to a SD set I bought from Sadol once, We’ll see. I’m not a big fan of Halloween, since it’s quite new here.
This is supposed to be an underskirt, but since Ailene does not wear lolita I’ll probably use it as a regular skirt. You can check it out here, it comes in other colors as well.
This is the last things I got from Sunflower. These leggings are super cute! The other things are basic socks and underwear.
After that I didn’t find many stores that I truly liked, until I came across AMORS. Most of their dresses are really detailed and cost a bit more than other stores, but I think it’s probably worth it. I only got 2 dresses here, nothing fancy.
The pink dress is more peach than I was hoping, but it’s really cute! The stripped dress comes with bloomers.
I have no idea what the store is called, but you can find this coat here. For the price I thought the quality wasn’t going to be good, but it’s really nice, it’s even lined.
Last store was Idollzoo. They used to have an etsy, but it disappeared not long ago. They also sell shoes, but I didn’t find the colors I wanted in stock.
I have 2 skirts from this store I got from etsy, so I took the chance to get another one, since I really like them and they sell many colors. The scarf is very cute, but the ends are a bit streched out so they look a bit wider than the center. That was a bit disappointing.
As for Bhiner, I really liked it. The system was a bit confusing though: you check the items you want in their site and add them to a cart, then you need to ask for a quote. Once the quote is confirmed you can checkout, but you have to add credit to your Bhiner account through paypal first. After you paid you just wait for them to receive your items. They add pictures of your things as they arrive to their place (all photos are in your order page). Once everything is in their posession they send a second invoice for shipping (they offer airmail and DHL for Chile and I’m guessing other countries can choose EMS as well). Everything was super fast and easy to figure it out. I’ll probably make another purchase next year.
I hope the pictures aren’t too dissappointing, but I didn’t want to post any crappy pictures of Ailene in them and make proper photoshoots with them in the future.
Do you have any favorite stores from Taobao? I’d love to hear your thoughts on that! I’ll be looking as well.
Thanks for the review, I really want to order from Taobao but I’m still a bit scared, plus I’m saving up for Lucien body too. Hopefully maybe next year, I can try them out. All the items are super cute, congratulations! My favorite is the bear outfit and the stripped dress. 😀

Thanks so much for posting about your experience using this place. I’ve always wanted to buy things from there but am so intimidated by the whole process. It all seems so confusing. I think my friend uses it though so I might see who she uses and the stores she likes.
I do wish they made it easier for people outside of the country to order though.
I love those leggings with the cute little heart wings. That’s just so adorable. Can’t wait to see Ailene modelling these.
I also wish they would make it easier for us to buy, but after all it wasn’t so bad!
I love the leggings as well! I like that the hearts are not in the knees but lower, so they show up easily if you use a skirt over it :).

I have way too many favorite shops, haha! I saved like a hundred in my fav. shop listings on taobao xD;;; If you’re looking for anything specific though, I can probably help you with that ^^;;

I love pastel things hahaha, I’ll try to take some photos this weekend if the weather cooperates (this has been the saddest spring ever, I’m freezing, there’s barely any light and it’s already october!)

I’m glad your order was successful! ^-^ I also love the look of Amors items, although irl they have been a bit of a disappointment for me. So I would very much like to see Ailene wear that dress to see if I have just chosen poorly before!
I think my AMORS stuff was really nice, I’m sad that you have been dissappointed in the past. The only problem I can think of is that the pink is more peach than anything, makes me wish I went with another color instead. I’ll be posting photos of Ailene in the near future!
