Year balance and holiday wishes 2018

18 Comments on Year balance and holiday wishes 2018

Not sure why I’m even trying to do a year balance, as I was only active 3 months this year haha, but since I done every year I thought I would keep up with it.

Goals for 2018 where posted here.

I started ADAM (a doll a month), but I failed this at the second month of this year. So I only took one photo out of 12. Massive fail.

My second goal was to get a Poppy Parker doll, but in the end I decided not to and at this point I doubt I’ll get one. I want to focus on less collections.

Bullet journaling was my third goal, but I only did mine for half a year. I mean, I’m still applying everything I was doing on my bullet journal, but I’ve gone digital now and I’m using different apps on my phone to keep track of everything. It’s less time consuming and I don’t waste paper and supplies.

And that’s pretty much all. I accomplished nothing I was hoping to, but I’m happy to have come back to the hobby and all the photos I’ve taken, I’m proud of some of those. Here’s my 12 favorite ones:

And with that I wish you have a great holiday with your loved ones. Presents don’t matter, but the time spent with the family (genetic or not) is what remains.

A huge hug for all of you, my dear friends.

Don’t underestimate yourself. You achieved the most important goal – being faithful to yourself.
If a bullet journal fails, it means you don’t need one. You can organize your time in another way.
If ADAM fails, it means you don’t need to follow rules and challenges because you have your own pace and ideas for photos.
And if Poppy is meant to be yours it will be, one way or another.
Have a very Merry Christmas and lovely time with your family.

    Hi Alejandra,
Don’t dwell on what you didn’t achieve, enjoy the things you did. I like the changes you made to your website this year and I am so pleased you are back among us again, I missed you when you took your break. The montage is lovely and the final photo really made me smile.

    HAPPY HOLIDAYS!! Big hugs,
    X

Yeah, failing is bound to happen sometimes, but you manage so many other things, so it’s a win in a different perspective 🙂

I’m happy you like my Christmas photo. I know it’s way simpler than previous photos I did this month with the theme, but I’ve always preferred minimalism haha.
Hope you are enjoying yourself too. Hugs!

Thank you for the good wishes, I hope you have a great new year too!!!
I’m not thinking bad at myself at all, I just stated that I failed my 2018 goals, but those turned out not to be goals I wanted in the end, so it’s all good!

Don’t worry. I never even put any goals as I’m always sure I won’t do all that I plan to do. 😀

I love your photos. They are so beautiful.

    Merry Christmas to you!

I’m really happy that you have been sharing photos again on your blog and IG. I’ve missed seeing them. You always come up with some creative ideas for your photos. Like you, I didn’t do an awful lot on my list either for 2018. Things just got a little crazy and sad this year so my motivation was at an all time low! I think we make these resolutions with absolute good intentions to do them but you just never know what the year will bring for you and things happen to delay or deter you from completing the resolutions. I’ve come to the point where I say to myself, “It’s okay.” I see resolutions as more of a guideline, great if you can complete them but not earth shattering if you can’t. They’re motivator sign posts in a sense.

I hope you had a really great Christmas day and I wish you all the best for 2019. I hope this coming year will turn out to be a very productive and very great one for you. I’m really thankful to have met you and be able to call you a friend. *Sending you big hugs*

You are too sweet! I think the same as you, new years resolutions are more like a guideline, but I don’t beat myself up if I don’t do them. Is nice to have goals, so you know where to aim, but it’s okay to deviate from the path, it can be something forced on you that you didn’t plan, or it can be that you changed ideas. it’s all good. I still love making goals for myself.
I truly wish your 2019 is a great year, with less sadness and weirdness and more love, energy and health.
I’m also enormously happy to count you in my small group of friends, you are such a great person and hearing from you always lift my spirits. All the biggest hugs for you too!

I just love the last photo – Reindeer dolly. Cute!
Oh, well, Life is life and I think you did good. It is, as some above wrote, do enjoy the good things and not dwell on the missed goals. It is better to learn from them or even lower the bar. I put my bar high up, almost too high – could almost walk under. My plan for next year is to keep it simple and focus on some few things. I know that my mind will be all over the place and if so, then I need to stop and focus!
Hope you had a marvelous Christmas!

Thanks!!! It is best to be realistic always, we tend to put too much pressure on us, we are always our hardest critics.
I didn’t set many goals this year yet I managed to fail them all. But that’s okay, so much changed that I don’t see those as goals anymore. So not interested!
Christmas was okay, thank you. I’m glad you liked the reindeer dolly, I planned that photo for weeks!
